#ORGULLOSA
The project, launched in the 2017-2018 season, has the main objective of enhancing Catalan women's football and futsal during the coming seasons through four main axes: training, economic aid, accessibility, and visibility.
Currently, the FCF is the federation with the most licenses in the state, with a total of 10,797 federated female players in the summer of 2016, and wants to continue growing in this line over the next few years with a series of measures that are gradually starting to bear fruit. A good sign is that there are more and more girls throughout the Catalan territory interested in practicing football and futsal and, consequently, the number of women's teams is progressively increasing.
WHAT DOES THE CAMPAIGN CONSIST OF?
Along with the label and its own unique typography, the Catalan Football Federation has created a logo of a female football player. The slogan responds to a feeling shared by the more than 10,000 federated female football and futsal players in Catalonia: #Orgullosa (Proud) of being able to play football and practice the sport they like most. The FCF's will is to work in the coming years to popularize and normalize women's football and futsal in Catalonia and, thus, double the number of licenses.
The campaign has allocated a total of 1,213,122.58 euros in its first season to the promotion of Catalan women's football. Of these, 1,018,122.58 euros have been distributed among the 680 women's grassroots and amateur teams in Catalonia, both for football and futsal, as contemplated in the project, which contains a line of economic aid with a fixed subsidy for each women's team (including professional clubs) registered in federated competitions and a variable for displacements that each of these teams makes in the course of the season. The rest of the money has been allocated to promotion actions.
ELEMENTS THAT FORM PART OF IT:
The four basic axes of this project are: training; economic aid; accessibility in organizing different activities that help girls start in the world of football; and visibility, with the creation of an exclusive department at the FCF that ensures the good functioning of women's football.
Some of the most prominent actions are:
- Protocol for entering the field with an orange flag in all women's football and futsal matches.
- Mileage subsidies for clubs that have women's teams.
- Discounts for female players and referees in the Catalan Footballers' Mutual Society fee.
- Scholarships in the Coaches School courses.
- Broadcasts of women's football and futsal matches on Esport3.
- Weekly reports on FCF TV.
- Embroidery on the sleeves with the project logo worn by the players.
- Promotion of women's football in schools.
- Creation of the website futbolfemení.com with exclusive and innovative content about women's football.
Ambaixadores:
Since its inception, the project has had a series of ambassadors who collaborate with the initiative and help give it more visibility. Among them are the Catalan senior and under-18 women's coach, Natàlia Arroyo; the winner of the FIFA World Player in 2015, Carli Lloyd; the winner of The Best 2017 award for best player in the world, Lieke Martens; and the best Catalan player of the 2016-2017 season, Alexia Putellas.
