RESPECT

In the 2013-2014 season, the campaign 'Respect our illusion' was born, framed within the first initiative carried out, 'Joc Net'. The aim of this measure is to end physical and verbal violence in football and futsal, promote fair play, conflict resolution, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle habits. In short, to minimize incidents on football pitches and pavilions.

WHAT DOES THE CAMPAIGN CONSIST OF?

'Respect' represented a leap in quality and ambition compared to Joc Net, as it went and goes much further. This campaign does not seek a one-off change but intends to change the way we understand sport. It promotes desirable behaviors on a playing field and, for the first time, is also directed at players' parents. Without knowing it, they too can make football not fun or educational. The results have been notable, and it was decided to turn ‘Respect’ into the umbrella campaign for all those to come in the following years. That is, all campaigns are encompassed under the slogan ‘RESPECT’, a primordial value promoted by the FCF. If we show respect to the rival, the referee, the public, the coaches, the parents... we will all have cleaner football and futsal free from bad practices.

Final greeting: at the end of the match, players must also shake hands with the opposing team in the middle of the field, accompanied by the referee, in the same way they do before the match starts.

Decalogue: the campaign is reinforced with a decalogue of 'rules' to ensure that young players can enjoy playing football. These are:

1.Cheer for us.
2.Remember that football and futsal are just a sport.
3.Let the coach give the instructions, it is they who direct the team.
4.Respect the referee's decisions.
5.Disrespecting the opposing team also disrespects us.
6.Don't lecture us on the mistakes we made during the match.
7.Let us enjoy the match.
8.We play to have fun, we won't necessarily be the next stars of football or futsal.
9.We like football and futsal. Don't take away our desire to practice it.
10.For better football and futsal, let's practice Fair Play.

Referee kit logos: the 'Joc Net' and 'Respect' logos are visible on the referees' shirts.

ELEMENTS THAT FORM PART OF IT

Flag: the most visible element. During the campaign promotion season, captains of grassroots football and futsal show the flag before starting matches. The flag is shown to the public at the moment both teams form up, accompanied by each of the coaches and the refereeing team, just before the initial greeting.

REGULATORY MODIFICATIONS

Mandatory greeting at the beginning and end of the encounter (art. 232 RG).
