JOC NET (FAIR PLAY)

The first initiative carried out by the Catalan Football Federation to end physical and verbal violence in football, and to promote fair play, conflict resolution, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle habits was in the 2012-2013 season with the launch of the ‘Joc Net’ campaign. The aim of this measure is, on the one hand, to minimize incidents on football pitches and pavilions, and on the other, to reduce the number of cards shown during matches. The program has had the collaboration of numerous entities and world-class footballers such as Leo Messi, Andrés Iniesta, Carles Puyol, Xavi Hernández, Sergio García, or Kiko Casilla.

WHAT DOES THE CAMPAIGN CONSIST OF?

It consists of protecting Catalan players in their formative stages, especially against bad conduct and actions that can sometimes be seen in the stands of the playing fields. During the 2011-2012 season, the different Competition Committees belonging to the FCF warned that the number of incidents was growing in matches. Seeing the situation, the Board of Directors decided to promote values and fair play through different campaigns. In this way, the 'Joc Net' campaign was born in 2012-2013, representing the first step of a project that grows and develops as the years go by. All campaigns are encompassed under the slogan ‘RESPECT’, a primordial value to be promoted by the FCF. If we show respect to the rival, the referee, the public, the coaches, the parents... we will all have cleaner football and futsal free from bad practices.

ELEMENTS THAT FORM PART OF IT

Flag: the most visible element. During the campaign promotion season, captains of grassroots football and futsal show the flag before starting matches. The flag is shown to the public at the moment both teams form up, accompanied by each of the coaches and the refereeing team, just before the initial greeting.

Final greeting: at the end of the match, players must also shake hands with the opposing team in the middle of the field, accompanied by the referee, in the same way they do before the match starts.

Decalogue: the campaign is reinforced with a decalogue of 'rules' to ensure that young players can enjoy playing football. These include the premises of "letting the coach give instructions, as it is they who direct the team", "respecting the referee's decisions", and "for better football and futsal, let's practice Fair Play".

Referee kit logos: the 'Joc Net' and 'Respect' logos are visible on the referees' kits.

Ball: to achieve maximum dissemination of the campaign, the logo is included on Futcat balls.
